One of the great joys of being a pastor's wife is

One of the great joys of being a pastor's wife is the privilege of praying specific requests for the pastor. As Nathan's other half, I know firsthand many of the struggles he faces, the difficult circumstances he navigates, the ins and outs of ministry among the flock. Years ago I realized one of the greatest things I could do for Nathan and for our church is to pray fervently.
October is Pastor Appreciation month. And while we are always grateful for every act of love lavished on us, I thought it might be fitting to share ways for you love your pastors through prayer. Charles Spurgeon once said, "The kindest thing you can do for someone is to pray for them." So this month, as often as I can, I'll be posting prayers - the very ones I often pray (leaving out names and specifics of course). I hope you'll join me by praying for your pastor. The devil roams around seeking someone to devour - and I'm convinced Pastors are his primary target. May we be a people on our knees for the Shepherds in our churches. Amen?

I love the Fall. Maybe it's because I love that our Creator didn't create just one season. Instead, he added such variety to our lives. About the time I can't stand the heat any longer and am weary of the sand and sun and sameness of summer, here comes a cool breeze. Enter new colors and a whole new set of ways to enjoy what God created. He has woven such diversity and goodness into our lives through the changing seasons!

But even as I watch the trees change from green, to yellow and burnt orange from my beloved porch, I'm reminded that there is a common thread of stability through all transitions. No matter the season, God doesn't change. His Word is steady and sure. His promises will endure when nothing else does.

Enjoy the glorious changing season, Dear Ones. And let it point you to an unchanging God who as committed Himself to you. If there is anything worth giving ourselves to, it is this God whose Word never fails and whose ways endure forever.
